Philanthropist Supports Orphanage School in Volta Region

Keta: Inmates of ‘In My Father’s House’ orphanage school in the Keta Municipality of the Volta Region have received support from Mr. Michael Foli Jarkidy, a philanthropist and journalist with the Ghana News Agency and Kekeli Radio in Ho. The donation included used clothing, soft drinks, boxes of biscuits, and various teaching and learning materials aimed at uplifting educational standards in the area.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Foli presented the items as part of his birthday celebration to motivate young learners. He emphasized the gesture as part of a larger commitment to give back to the community and engage with vulnerable members of society. Mr. Foli stated, “I believe that everyone has a role to play in making a difference in the lives of others. I have made this part of my birthday schedules annually to support our younger ones here to feel at home and have a stable mind to study.”

Mr. Foli encouraged the students to make good use of the items, excel in their studies, and called on other individuals and organizations to follow his example in supporting the school to provide quality education and care.

Mr. Frank Amenyo, Deputy Director of the House, received the items on behalf of the students and staff, expressing gratitude to Mr. Foli for his generous gesture. He pledged that the items would significantly support the school’s activities. He explained that ‘In My Father’s House’ orphanage school serves as a home for many vulnerable children lacking parental care and support, providing them with education, shelter, and care, and relies on the support of well-wishers to operate.

Mr. Amenyo highlighted that the support from Mr. Foli was a testament to the power of kindness and generosity. He noted the selfless act had brought joy and hope to the students and staff, and he hoped it would inspire others to positively impact their communities.
