Philanthropist Donates Mock Exam Materials to Sunyani West Education Directorate

Sunyani west: Madam Amma Frimpomaa Dwumah, a philanthropist, has presented educational materials to support the mock examinations for the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates in the Sunyani West Municipality. She donated around 2,000 mathematical sets, along with mock examination questions and answer booklets to the Sunyani West Municipal Directorate of Education.

According to Ghana News Agency, Madam Dwumah, who is also a parliamentary aspirant for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2024 elections, stated at a ceremony in Odomase that the donation aims to adequately prepare approximately 2,000 candidates for the BECE, which is set to commence in May this year. The donation stems from her engagement with the Municipal Directorate of Education four years ago, where she identified a lack of resources to organize structured mock examinations for BECE candidates in public schools.

Madam Dwumah emphasized that over the years, the initiative has strengthened, with increasing support from the community. She encouraged individuals and organizations to extend similar support to schools, particularly in rural areas, and noted the importance of diverse forms of assistance to improve educational outcomes in the municipality.

Mr. Issah Baffoe, the Sunyani West Municipal Director of Education, expressed gratitude for the donation, noting its significant impact on the candidates. He highlighted that the mock examinations would provide candidates with a clearer understanding of the BECE, broadening their perspectives and preparing them adequately for the actual examination.
