Accra: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has described the framework agreement with the United States, set to be signed in Switzerland on Friday, as a diplomatic victory for his country. Pezeshkian emphasized the importance of capitalizing on this opportunity to address Iran's current challenges.
According to Ghana News Agency, Pezeshkian stated on Tuesday that Iran should not let this opportunity slip by unused. He noted that such chances are limited and might not present themselves again. Pezeshkian, known for his moderate stance, has consistently supported diplomatic solutions and backed the negotiating team led by chief negotiator Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
Pezeshkian expressed hope that the framework agreement will resolve many of Iran's problems and lead to a new era. The nation has been grappling with a severe economic crisis for years due to international sanctions, which worsened dramatically since the conflict started at the end of February and following the ceasefire in April.
An agreement with the US over the nuclear dispute could potentially lead to the lifting of sanctions, offering a path toward recovery from the country's dire economic situation.
