Manchester: Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola has called on global leaders to take action to protect children who are being maltreated in Palestine. Regarding Israel's war with Gaza, the Israeli military reportedly acknowledged that the death toll in Gaza had exceeded 70,000, a figure initially reported by the Hamas-run health ministry. Viral videos have also shown children pleading for help and enduring distressing circumstances.
According to Ghana Web, Guardiola, a vocal critic of the war, has urged world leaders to resolve the conflict to prevent further abuse of children and loss of lives. "Let me say two things. When I see a child in these past two years, with these images on social media, on television, recording himself, pleading 'where is my mother?' among the rubble, and he still doesn't know it." he remarked at a charity event in Barcelona to support Palestine.
The Manchester City boss also called on individuals to show solidarity with those who are struggling, adding that authorities have not done enough to resolve the crisis. He criticized those in power, suggesting that they are cowards for sending innocent young people to kill innocent people while they remain comfortable in their homes.
Guardiola emphasized the importance of taking a step forward and getting involved, resisting the silence that bombs aim to create. The charity concert in support of Palestine welcomed about 12,000 guests.
