Pensioners picketing at Finance Ministry shows NDC will win hugely in 2024 elections – Opare Addo

George Opare Addo, the National Youths Organizer of the main opposition NDC, has expressed optimism about his party’s electoral victory in 2024.

Pablo, as he is affectionately called, believes NDC will win overwhelmingly in the next election.

Speaking on Atinka TV’s “Oman Mu Nsem,” hosted by Nana Owoahene Acheampong, the youth leader lamented the hardships in the country, particularly the recent brouhaha surrounding the Domestic Debt Exchange Programme.

“We will increase our votes in the next election…It is not only about victory; it is about the state of the Ghanaian economy.

“It is about you and I. If 70-year-olds and 90-year-olds today are picketing at the Finance Ministry, then you should know all is not well in this country,” Mr. Opare Addo said.

To him, having old-aged citizens picketing at the Ministry of Finance (MoF), including a former Chief Justice, Mrs. Sophia Akufo, shows the NPP government has failed woefully.

“To have a former Chief Justice, who is an Article 71 office older, and still a member of Governing Council of the University of Ghana, then you should know all is not well. So, it is not only about the NDC winning power, but it is about the soul of this country,” he noted.

He stressed, “If we don’t speak the truth to this government, it won’t be a good thing for this country. Ghana is bankrupt as we speak.”
