Gomoa kumasi: An opinion leader at Gomoa Kumasi, Mr. Lawrence Ketu, has called on parents to make a concerted effort to invest their limited resources in their children's education, in order to support the Government's free compulsory education policy.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Ketu emphasized that continuing to invest in children's education is vital for securing a better future for them. He urged parents to prioritize their spending on educational needs rather than unproductive ventures. Mr. Ketu shared his views while chairing a grand durbar of Chiefs and the people of Gomoa Kumasi, marking the conclusion of their 2026 Ahobaaksese festival.
The festival, themed 'Uniting for Development,' attracted participants from various backgrounds who contributed to the peaceful and developmental celebration. Mr. Ketu highlighted the importance of providing children with their basic needs, in addition to what the government offers, to help them acquire essential skills and knowledge.
He also advised parents to be vigilant about their children's movements and encourage them to avoid negative influences from peers. Furthermore, Mr. Ketu stressed the significance of investing in the moral and spiritual grooming of children to ensure their growth into responsible adults.
