Osman Bukari Welcomes Derrick Luckassen to Red Star Belgrade

Belgrade: Winger Osman Bukari welcomed compatriot Derrick Luckassen to Serbia as he completed his move to giants Red Star Belgrade. The Ghana World Cup star joined the Serbian heavyweights after putting pen to paper on a three-year deal from Pafos. According to Ghana Web, Bukari, who also returned to the club this summer, shared a heartwarming video call with the defender as they became club mates for the 2026/27 campaign. In the video, Bukari also explained why he chose to return to Serbia after his time in the United States with Austin FC and Poland with Widzew Lodz. "Hello Luckassen. Welcome. I am glad you are here. Red Star is a family and that is exactly why I came back. I hope you are going to enjoy," said Bukari. The Black Stars winger enjoyed a successful first stint with Red Star, where he won the League and Cup double in back-to-back seasons. Luckassen disclosed he was inspired to join the club due to their rich history. "The impressions are very good. Red Star is a big team and a big club, and m y first impressions are truly excellent," he said in his first interview. "I think we can achieve excellent results. As I said, Red Star is a big and well-known club. It is already achieving good results, and I hope that together we can be even more successful," he added. Luckassen, who is the senior brother of Dutch forward Brian Brobbey, had a decent World Cup, helping Ghana reach the round of 32.
