Osei Nsiah elected Ashanti RAG Chairman

Kumasi, Osei Nsiah has been elected as the new Ashanti Regional Chairman of the Referees Association of Ghana (RAG).

He polled 81 votes to beat off the challenge by two other contestants – Mike Amedior, who had 52, and Stephen Oduro, four votes.

This was at the association’s delegates’ congress held in Kumasi to elect new leaders to manage its affairs over the next four years.

The other officers included Amofa Sarkodie, Vice Chairman, Prince Ansah, Secretary, Isaac Osei, Deputy Secretary, George Manu, Technical Instructor and Emmanuel Baah, Treasurer.

Mr. Nsiah pledged that they would not disappoint and reminded his colleague referees to be professional in the discharge of their duties.

He indicated that refereeing was a noble profession and it was important they did everything to ensure that nobody found faults with their performance.

He gave the assurance that the new leadership would run refresher courses for the members to build their capacity and professional competence.

He called for everybody to actively participate in the activities of the association to make it more vibrant.
