Accra: Obrempong Nyanful Krampah XI, President of the Gomoa Ajumako Traditional Council, has reiterated calls on divisional and sub-chiefs to invest more in the youth to accelerate development within the traditional area. He emphasized the importance of prioritizing the education of the girl-child, considering it crucial for the socio-economic advancement of the Gomoa Ajumako Traditional Area.
According to Ghana News Agency, chiefs and queen mothers must intensify advocacy for skills training and the holistic development of young girls to help reduce teenage pregnancy cases in their communities. Obrempong Nyanful Krampah made these remarks during the installation ceremony of Nana Nimoh Ayibor VII as the Mankrado of Gomoa Nkran.
At the ceremony held at Gomoa Ajumako in the Gomoa West District of the Central Region, Nana Ayibor swore the oath of allegiance to Obrempong Nyanful Krampah and the people of the traditional area. The President of the Traditional Council urged the new Mankrado to collaborate with the Odikro and other traditional leaders to harness the potential of the youth for community development.
He highlighted the importance of cooperation, understanding, peace, and unity among chiefs in the Gomoa Ajumako Traditional Area to facilitate growth in towns and communities and promote human capital development. Obrempong Nyanful Krampah expressed his optimism that the prevailing peace in the traditional area, particularly regarding chieftaincy and land matters, would be maintained.
He further advised Nana Ayibor to support the Odikro and other sub-chiefs in mobilizing resources and lobbying for development projects in education, healthcare, and road infrastructure. Nana Ayibor expressed her gratitude to Obrempong Nyanful Krampah, divisional chiefs, kingmakers, and the people for the confidence placed in her, pledging her commitment to supporting efforts to advance development in Gomoa Nkran.
She also committed to championing issues affecting the welfare of the girl-child and encouraging young girls to focus on their education and personal development. Nana Awul Saraku Cobbah III, Chief of Gomoa Nkran, commended Nana Ayibor for initiatives she had undertaken to benefit young people in the town even before her installation, assuring her of his support.
He noted that more sub-chiefs would be installed to strengthen traditional leadership and promote development in the community.
