Ntim Fordjour Denies Alleged Sexual Relationship with Angel Maxine

Accra: The New Patriotic Party Member of Parliament for Assin South, Reverend John Ntim Fordjour, on Thursday refuted allegations of a sexual relationship with transgender musician Angel Maxine. He stated, "Maxine, in her old or present life, contrary to her claim that she has had intercourse with me, I have never engaged in any such act." He emphasized that his beliefs were consistent with relations ordained "between Adam and Eve."

According to Ghana News Agency, the denial by Reverend Fordjour came in response to a reference made by Mr. Samuel Nartey George during a clause-by-clause review of the Human Sexual Rights and Family Values Bill, 2025. Mr. George, the principal sponsor of the bill and a National Democratic Congress MP for Ningo-Prampram, is also the Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations. He highlighted that individuals identifying as part of the LGBTQ community could face legal action if the bill becomes law.

Mr. George further suggested that social commentator Headucator might be subject to prosecution under the proposed legislation for allegedly identifying as a member of the LGBT community and promoting related conduct. He questioned why the individual making claims about a sexual relationship with Hon. Ntim Fordjour was not prosecutable.

The Human Sexual Rights and Family Values Bill, 2025, often referred to as the anti-LGBTQ Bill, aims to criminalize same-sex relationships and related advocacy. The Constitutional and Legal Affairs Committee of Parliament has initiated a clause-by-clause examination of the bill following its referral by the Speaker.
