Accra: Former National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) contestant, Francisca Lamini, has achieved another major academic milestone after graduating from Harvard University with the highest honours, Summa Cum Laude, in the Class of 2026.
According to Ghana Web, Francisca completed a pre-med programme at the prestigious university after gaining admission in 2022 on a full scholarship. Her scholarship package also offered her the opportunity to continue to Harvard Medical School or any Ivy League medical school of her choice after successfully completing her undergraduate studies.
Francisca became widely known in Ghana following her outstanding performance at the 2021 National Science and Maths Quiz when she represented Keta Senior High Technical School. Although her school did not win the competition, many Ghanaians praised her exceptional performance throughout the contest. Her impressive display during the competition earned her recognition from several individuals, institutions, and organisations, many of which offered her gifts and scholarship opportunities.
She later confirmed her academic brilliance with excellent results in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), further increasing public admiration for her achievements in a field often dominated by men. Francisca's admission to Harvard University in the United States attracted national attention, with many celebrating her journey toward becoming a medical doctor.
Shortly after beginning her studies, reports also emerged that she recorded excellent first-semester results, earning straight As in her courses. Her latest achievement has once again sparked congratulations from many Ghanaians, with several people praising her consistency and academic excellence.
