Accra: The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has officially cleared all 47 aspirants who underwent vetting to contest for various positions in the party's 2026 National Officers Elections. This announcement was made by the party's National Officers Elections Committee (NOEC) in a statement following the completion of the vetting process.
According to Ghana Web, the National Officers Election Vetting Committee (NOEVC) conducted the vetting exercise from August 31 to September 3, 2026. This was in line with the timetable provided by the NOEC. A total of 47 aspirants appeared before the committee, competing across nine categories of national officer positions.
The Vetting Committee assessed the documentation submitted by the aspirants, engaged them during the vetting process, and evaluated the applicable eligibility requirements before submitting its report to the NOEC. The committee concluded that all 47 aspirants were suitable and eligible to contest the positions for which they filed their nominations.
The NOEC affirmed that all aspirants have been cleared to contest, subject to the processes outlined in the applicable election rules. The cleared aspirants are distributed across nine national officer positions. The NPP also announced that balloting for positions on the ballot paper will occur on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at the Party's Headquarters at Asylum Down, Accra.
