Nigerian military targets Boko Haram’s hideout in airstrike

IbikunleDaramola, a spokesman for the Nigerian Air Force, said the successful attack was carried out in DabanMasara area of the state on Friday, where an unknown number of the terrorists were believed to have been killed in the airstrike.

The spokesperson added that the Alpha Jet successfully released its bombs on the targets in successive strikes leading to massive destruction of the target buildings as well as the neutralization of several Boko Haram fighters.

Nigeria has made considerable gains against the terror group, dislodging its fighters from the Sambisa Forest, the group’s largest training camp in the country.

Boko Haram has been blamed for the death of more than 20,000 people and displacing of 2.3 million others in Nigeria since 2009.
