NDC Cadres Call for Effective Consolidation for ‘Reset Agenda’

Sandema: The Upper East Regional cadres of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have called on members of the Party to take bold measures towards the effective consolidation of the government's 'Reset Agenda'. According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Daniel Adoliba Akologo, the Upper East Regional Chairman of the United Cadres Front (UCF), emphasized the need for bold measures to ensure the effective consolidation of the 'Reset Agenda,' which he described as a significant opportunity for Ghana, initiated by the Mahama-led government to address the country's economic challenges. Mr. Akologo delivered his remarks on the theme: 'Consolidating the Reset Agenda: Reflections on the Gains of the 31st December Revolution,' during the 44th Anniversary celebration of the 31st December Revolution held in Sandema. The event attracted party cadres from across the region, including Mr. James Agalga, the Member of Parliament for the area, Madam Anne Musah, the District Chief Executive for Builsa South, as well as regional an d constituency executives. The UCF Chairman highlighted the relevance of the theme and called for action, urging alignment of the enduring ideals of the revolution with contemporary governance priorities and the party's 'Reset Agenda' to ensure inclusive growth and national transformation. He stressed the importance of zero tolerance for corruption and accountability for individuals in public service, regardless of status or political leanings. Mr. Akologo further emphasized the need to empower citizens to participate in decision-making processes, ensuring that the government remains a servant of the people and prioritizes social justice to bridge the gap between the rich and the poor, creating opportunities for all Ghanaians. He stated that the struggle continues, and it is a collective responsibility to strive for a nation where probity and accountability are lived experiences for every Ghanaian. Mr. Agalga praised the organizers for the event, noting that the 31st December Revolution was almost forgotte n for a long time. He expressed satisfaction that justice was done to the occasion, as the National Democratic Congress was birthed by the 31st December Revolution. The MP attributed the events leading to the Revolution to the decay and moral breakdown in Ghanaian society, citing endemic corruption and theft that hindered the country's development. He recounted that Jerry Rawlings answered the call to liberate the nation, leading to the 1992 Constitution and the formation of the NDC. Mr. Agalga called for collective responsibility and urged support for those who organized the programme, advocating for action to bridge gaps between party members who do not identify with the cadre's front.
