Nadia Buari Speaks Out Against Child Abuse and Domestic Violence

Sanaa:Ghanaian actress Nadia Buari has condemned domestic violence and child abuse, urging victims to speak out rather than remain silent.

According to Ghana Web, Buari expressed her concerns through a social media post, emphasizing that a home should be a place of safety, warmth, and love for children. However, she acknowledged that for many, it has become a place of fear due to violence and abuse.

Buari highlighted that domestic violence should not only be seen as an issue between adults, especially when children are subjected to or witness physical abuse. She asserted that such situations must not be ignored, as they constitute abuse.

The actress explained that domestic violence can manifest in various forms, including physical, emotional, verbal, sexual, and financial abuse, none of which should be tolerated in relationships or families.

Buari also pointed to the detrimental effects of domestic violence on children who witness such acts, noting that it can lead to fear, anxiety, and emotional distress, potentially making them withdrawn, aggressive, or struggling in school.

She warned that when children are physically abused, the damage is even greater, as they might learn that their home is not a safe place and those meant to protect them can also cause harm.

Buari urged individuals in abusive situations to seek help rather than rely on apologies and promises from abusive partners, as abuse seldom stops without intervention. She challenged the notion that marriage justifies such behavior, asserting that love should not be associated with fear.
