Sunyani, Graduates engaged under the government’s Nation Builders Corps (NaBCo) in the Sunyani Municipality reported work in some public institutions on Thursday.
The Ghana News Agency (GNA) investigations revealed they were among the first batch of successful applicants who received training.
Early this week, Dr Anyars Ibrahim, the Chief Executive Officer of NaBCo announced placement of the first batch of graduates engaged under the programme, aimed at creating jobs for the youth.
When the GNA visited some of the institutions in the Municipality, the beneficiaries were checking their particulars, whilst others had already resumed work.
Some of the institutions visited included the Municipal Education Directorate, Municipal Health Directorate and the Municipal Directorate of Agriculture.
Moses Adjei, a beneficiary lauded the programme and commended the government for the initiative saying, it would reduce unemployment in the country and better the socio-economic livelihood of the youth.
He advised his colleagues to work hard to justify their engagements and sustain the programme as well.
Mrs. Mavis Gyau Kyeremeh, a Senior Executive Officer at the Sunyani Municipal Health Directorate said the beneficiaries would be very useful to the directorate, and commended the government for the programme.
Later in an interview Mr. Seth Cudjo, the Sunyani Municipal Coordinator of NaBCo who had earlier went round to assess the situation, advised the beneficiaries to work hard.
He assured that plans were far advanced, and very soon the second batch of successful applicants would be placed.
