Accra: The South West Business District of MTN Ghana has engaged residents of New Takoradi on their products and services while educating them on fraud typology within the network.
According to Ghana News Agency, the community engagement addressed issues such as fibre cuts, fraudsters' activities, stronger password creation, and the protection of one-time passwords from individuals impersonating company officers. Mr. Maxwell Acquah, Field Services Manager for Central, Western, and Western North Regions, highlighted that despite the Big Push impacting underground cables, MTN swiftly relocated them to continue serving consumers effectively. He also mentioned the company's extensive network expansion in Western North areas to enhance connectivity.
Additionally, Mr. Akwasi Boateng, MoMo Channel Manager, announced the launch of the Shine Your Eyes campaign, aimed at educating communities on new fraud techniques and safeguarding them from financial threats. He emphasized the importance of not responding to calls that request pin numbers, pointing out that fraudsters could be anyone with access to such sensitive information.
Mr. Ken Ofusuhene, the South West Communication Officer, further informed the community about MTN's scholarship opportunities, encouraging residents to take advantage of these educational benefits.
