Accra: The Millennium Supporters Union of Ghana (MSUG) has addressed allegations of foul play concerning the death of Israel Ashitei Kamoah, a member who reportedly traveled to South Africa in March 2026.
According to Ghana Web, the family of Ashitei Kamoah, a graduate of Accra Technological University, has raised concerns that his organs were harvested while he was in South Africa. Ablade TV reported that after Kamoah's remains were returned to Ghana and placed at the LEKMA Mortuary, it was allegedly discovered that his heart, lungs, and liver were missing, prompting suspicion among family members.
In a recent interview on Accra FM, the MSUG leader refuted the claims of organ harvesting. He stated that all parts of the deceased's body could be accounted for, and emphasized that the family was present during the transfer of the body to Ghana.
"When the body arrived, my organiser confirmed to me that no part of the body had been taken out. His hands, eyes were intact, unless maybe his intestines (are not there), but I don't know. The organiser was there, the grandfather of the deceased was there, nothing has been taken away. The body is at LEKMA now, you can come to the morgue and confirm this," he explained.
He further added, "The body is at LEKMA, it has never been hidden. And it was not only one person who went for the body. His mother was part of the people who brought it back. They said the body was harvested. They should tell you the part of the body that was harvested, so you can come and confirm."
Regarding Kamoah's death, he passed away in South Africa in late March 2026 after traveling there in search of better opportunities. Multiple reports indicate that he traveled on March 25, 2026, on a trip allegedly organized by MSUG.
Ablade TV, citing family sources, reported that Kamoah was allegedly persuaded to join the trip by a woman named Edith, who reportedly managed his travel documents. According to the report, Edith advised Kamoah to keep the trip confidential, promising him a ticket to the South Africa versus Panama football match and potential job prospects.
The report also mentioned that a day before his death on March 30, 2026, Kamoah shared Edith's details with his cousin, including her phone number and name. He reportedly informed his cousin that Edith worked at the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority and that if anything happened to him, his father should hold her responsible.
Kamoah's remains were returned to Ghana on April 1, 2026, with the trip's organizers stating that a South African post-mortem report classified his death as suicide.
