Twifo praso: The Member of Parliament for Twifo Atti Morkwa Constituency, Mr. Theophilus Vondee, has advised young people that while formal education is important, acquiring practical skills is equally essential for success. He highlighted the government's prioritization of efforts to reduce unemployment across the country by implementing measures to develop skills.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Vondee emphasized that certificates from educational institutions alone are not always enough to guarantee jobs and encouraged the youth to develop skills that could serve as sustainable sources of income. He shared these insights during a program organized by the Twifo-Atti-Morkwa District Assembly in collaboration with Nana Ba Charity Foundation, aimed at equipping young people with vocational and technical skills.
The District Chief Executive, Mr. Isaac Yawson, reaffirmed the government's commitment to supporting the youth and called on NGOs to support government initiatives, noting that development efforts require collective responsibility. Meanwhile, the Central Regional Council of State member, Mr. Hakeem Addae, appealed to entrepreneurs and companies to invest in the Central Region by establishing industries and factories. He assured potential investors of the region's readiness to provide the necessary support to help reduce unemployment.
