MP Breaks Ground for Construction of Maternity Block at Duayaw Nkwanta Health Center

Duayaw nkwanta: Dr Gideon Boako, the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Tano North constituency in the Ahafo Region, has performed a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of an ultra-modern maternity block at the Duayaw-Nkwanta Health Center. According to Ghana News Agency, the project will include antenatal wards, a theater, a general ward, a records office, a laboratory, storage rooms, nurses' changing rooms, as well as delivery rooms, patients' examination rooms, and washrooms. Dr. Boako stated that he is funding the construction to improve delivery services and prevent maternal deaths. Speaking at the ceremony in Duayaw-Nkwanta, the Tano North Municipal capital, Dr. Boako emphasized that accessing primary healthcare should not be an issue in the area. He pledged his commitment to ensuring that quality healthcare delivery is brought to the constituents' doorstep. Nana Boakye Bonsu, the Acting President of the Duayaw-Nkwanta Traditional Council, commended the MP and assured that the council would monitor the project's execution. Mr. Yaw Owusu, in charge of the Facility at the Duayaw-Nkwanta Health Center, also expressed gratitude to the MP, noting the importance of the maternity block for improving health outcomes. He further expressed concern about the inadequate hospital beds and called for the expansion of the health center to meet the growing health demands of the people.
