MOBA Unveils Ultra-Modern Secretariat in Accra

Accra: The Methodist Church has commissioned an ultra-modern secretariat for the Mfantsipim Old Boys Association (MOBA) in Accra to enhance its operations. The new facility is set to support the National Executive Council and MOBA Council by providing logistics for projects, organizing meetings, and maintaining records.

According to Ghana News Agency, the Most Reverend Professor Johnson K. Asamoah-Gyadu, Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church of Ghana, along with the Baiden Foundation and Mfantsipim alumni, inaugurated the facility. The Presiding Bishop unveiled a plaque and offered prayers for the secretariat, which is equipped with a boardroom, reception area, lounge, cafeteria, and an office for the Executive Secretary.

Mr. Moses Kwesi Baiden Jnr, President (Ebusuapanyin) of MOBA, mentioned that the Baiden Foundation funded the project with assistance from friends to revamp the association's secretariat. He highlighted that the foundation consists of six siblings from the Baiden family, all of whom are alumni of Mfantsipim Senior High School.

During his campaign to become Ebusuapanyin of MOBA, Mr. Baiden Jnr promised to establish a new office equipped with modern digital technology to advance the association's vision. He emphasized that MOBA operates as a non-profit organization and corporate entity under a company limited by guarantee, with an Executive Secretary implementing its strategic business plan.

He acknowledged the significant impact Mfantsipim had on their lives, noting the school's history since 1947 of producing exceptional leaders contributing to sustainable development both locally and globally. Mr. Baiden Jnr stressed the importance of returning to the core objective of fostering leadership characterized by academic excellence, character, values, and purpose.

Expressing concern over the pursuit of wealth and power without purpose, Mr. Baiden Jnr emphasized that this development serves as a reminder that wealth, capacity, status, and power should serve a meaningful purpose. He reiterated MOBA's commitment to positive societal impact and announced the establishment of a full-time team, moving away from a purely voluntary structure.
