La dade-kotopon: The Minerals Income Investment Fund (MIIF) has joined residents and stakeholders in the La Dade-Kotopon Municipality for a major clean-up exercise aimed at improving sanitation and promoting a healthier environment.
According to Ghana Web, the exercise, led by MIIF Chief Executive Officer, Justina Nelson, involved staff and management of the Fund actively engaging in activities such as clearing choked drains, cutting overgrown bushes, and cleaning streets across parts of the municipality. Despite the rainy conditions, the MIIF team dedicated over three hours to support efforts in restoring cleanliness within the community.
In addition to their participation, MIIF contributed sanitation tools and equipment to the La Dade-Kotopon Municipal Assembly, aiming to enhance its sanitation activities and bolster efforts to maintain a clean environment. Nelson and the MIIF team stressed the importance of collective responsibility in tackling sanitation challenges, highlighting that cleaner communities require active involvement from individuals, institutions, and local authorities.
This exercise is part of broader national efforts to improve environmental sanitation following recent flooding incidents. It also seeks to encourage citizens and organizations to take responsibility for maintaining clean surroundings. MIIF has expressed its commitment to supporting initiatives that promote safer, healthier, and more sustainable communities across Ghana.
