According to Ghana News Agency:ccording to Ghana News Agency, this year’s screening was held under the theme ‘No One Should Suffer Cancer Alone.’ Collaborating with the Ho Teaching Hospital and the Red Cross Society, prostate screening was added to the event, attracting men of all ages to the broadcast station for examination. Men accounted for more than half of the over 200 people that attended the screening, where staff from the Teaching Hospital provided education on both diseases.
‘The screening means I am going to live long,’ an octogenarian remarked as he exited the prostate screening section. Ms. Patience Esi Tamakloe, the President of the Chapter, stated that the initiative was to support women and men with the crucial service for free and described the turnout as ‘very impressive.’
She noted that the GBC Ladies has been in existence for decades to help address issues pertaining to women, adding that the association aims at increasing the voices of women and breaking stereotypes. ‘We want to be a ro
le model for women to be able to speak out,’ she said. The medical exercise received support from corporate organisations, including the pharmaceutical industry.
