Media practitioners cheer Dwumfuor’s appointment as MD of Atinka

Accra, Many media practitioners have applauded the appointment of Mr Albert Kwabena Dwumfuor, the Organising Secretary of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) as the Managing Director of Atinka Media Village (AMV).

On many media platforms as wells as social gatherings, media practitioners have welcomed the news with congratulatory and goodwill messages, expressing their confidence that he was well-conditioned to do an excellent job.

They compliment him on his zeal, affability, resourcefulness and can do spirit, noting that with God’s guidance, the sky will be his limit.

AMV which is one of the fastest growing media organisations in Ghana is a subsidiary of the mother organization “Tobinco Group”, headed by Mr Samuel Amo Tobbin, in Accra.

The Accra-based media conglomerate includes Atinka FM, Atinka TV, atinkaonline.com as well as Ahoto FM and Agyenkwa FM in Takoradi and Kumasi, respectively.

Other sister entities are Tobinco Pharmaceuticals, Abii National, Priority Insurance, Entrance Pharmaceuticals, Entrance University Hospital Limited, Entrance University and Dors Events.

Speaking at a short welcome ceremony at the premises of AMV at Avenor in Accra, Mr Dwumfuor expressed his gratitude to the group Chairman, Mr Tobbin, the Board and the Management of AMV.

He assured the general staff of a total turn-around for the Media Village to maximise returns for shareholders.

Being a result-oriented person and after years of operating as a Media Consultant, Mr Dwumfuor is expected to bring to bear his worth of experience and dynamism to spearhead the vision of the organisation.

The astute media Consultant was the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of KAD Media Consult, a Public Relations firm he set up; and was once the Chief Operating Officer of the Tobinco Group in charge of Media.

He also served as the General Manager of Atinka FM before exiting in February 2016.

Mr Dwumfuor had hitherto served in various capacities within the organisation for years, including the Board Secretary to JAM Media Group, (now Atinka Media Village) which birthed Atinka FM.

Currently, he is a member of the Presidential Committee on Retail Trade, working with all relevant stakeholders to sanitise the retail market for national development.

The GJA Organising Secretary holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) and is currently pursuing an MA Degree in International Relation and Diplomacy at the same institution.

He officially started work on Monday, September 03, 2018.
