Atebubu: Mr Thomas Yaw Maswud Ayarba, the Atebubu/Amantin Municipal Chief Executive, has advised the Muslim community in the area to support the government's efforts towards accelerating national development. He emphasized the importance of being nation builders and not wreckers during his address at a Muslim gathering in Atebubu to mark the Eid-ul-Adha celebration in the Bono East Region.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr Ayarba urged Muslims to bury their differences and forge ahead in unity to promote holistic development in the municipality. He highlighted that Islam is a peaceful religion and encouraged community members to forgive each other's offences. He called on them to avoid bitterness, hatred, and petty backbiting.
Mr Ayarba also advised the Muslim youth to direct their energy towards productive activities and to avoid unhealthy lifestyles. He emphasized the importance of managing differences to prevent conflicts and violence that could disrupt the area's peace and hinder development efforts.
Sheikh Osman Hussein Saani, the Atebubu/Amantin Municipal Chief Imam, led the Muslim community in offering special prayers for President John Dramani Mahama's government and the nation.
