Ghanaian female musician and social media influencer, Sister Derby, known in private life as Deborah Owusu-Bonsu has revealed her position about marriage.
The 38-year-old “African mermaid” singer seems not to be prepared for marriage any time soon.
In an interview with Ameyaw TV on Youtuber, monitored by Modernghana News, she claimed it was the last thing on her mind as she is eagerly looking for money.
“I am not desperate for marriage at all. If I don’t get married or have children, I am still happy and fine with myself. I don’t feel like it is the end of the world because of it, I have always been independent. I’m not rushing for marriage. Will it bring me 5 million dollars?” she quizzed.
She claims she is unconcerned about the pressure from family or society to marry and have children, despite having dated two popular Ghanaian musicians, Joey B and Medikal, which both ended in heartbreaks.
“Don’t force yourself into marriage because of societal pressures,” she shared.
Adding that “make sure that’s the right partner for you, understand eachother, have good communication and enjoy each other’s company.”
