Accra: President John Dramani Mahama has initiated the construction of the Bole College of Education, a project he described as a 'dream come true' for the people of Bole and the Savannah Region. This development is part of his two-day Resetting Ghana Tour of the region.
According to Ghana News Agency, a statement from the Presidency indicated that President Mahama highlighted the new College of Education's projected capacity of 1,500 students, which is expected to enhance access to teacher training and higher education in the area. He also discussed ongoing investments in education infrastructure, such as a STEM secondary school at Tinga, a TVET Centre at Kulmasa, and plans for a University of Science and Technology.
The President underscored that these initiatives are designed to bridge development gaps and empower communities through education, which he sees as essential for addressing poverty and fostering long-term growth. Additionally, he announced other key infrastructure and healthcare projects, including a new district hospital for Bole, upgrades to critical road networks like the Wenchi-Bamboi-Bole-Sawla highway, and plans for a modern 24-hour market to stimulate local economic activity.
