Madam Justine Mauda Afia Aniaku Wins PWD Entrepreneur of the Year at Women in Entrepreneurship Awards

ACCRA: Madam Justine Mauda Afia Aniaku, Creative Director of JustMaud Group, has been honored with the Persons with Disability (PWD) Entrepreneur of the Year Award at the 2023 Edition of the Women in Entrepreneurship Awards (WIEA). The award recognizes her contributions to the field of entrepreneurship and her role as a beacon of empowerment and inspiration.

According to Ghana News Agency, Madam Aniaku’s company, JustMaud Group, focuses on fashion, arts, and crafts, with a special emphasis on training women in various handicrafts to create multiple income streams. Since 2009, the company has been particularly attentive to supporting PWDs, encouraging them to acquire skills and handiworks to become self-reliant and contribute positively to society.

Speaking to GNA, Madam Aniaku expressed her delight at receiving recognition and praised WIEA for honoring change-makers. She called on individuals and organizations to support JustMaud in training more PWDs who cannot afford the cost of training materials.

Oheneyere Gifty Anti, a Ghanaian media personality who chaired the event, encouraged young women to demonstrate consistency, passion, and determination in achieving their goals. Sylvia Tweneboah-Koduah, CEO of WIEA, stated that the addition of the PWD Entrepreneur of the Year category was part of the effort to showcase talents that could become self-sufficient with the right support.

The event also saw other winners, including Nina Kwadanaab as Woman Entrepreneur of the Year and Elizabeth Oti Ameyaa as Woman Entrepreneur Under 25 of the Year. Additional awardees included Princess Jewel Asare for Agri-Woman of the Year and several others in categories like Most Promising Entrepreneur, Creative Industry Entrepreneur, and more.
