Shama: Madam Emelia Arthur, the Member of Parliament for Shama, has launched the 'Edwuma na Nk?do' project, emphasizing her commitment to the development of the constituency and the prosperity of its residents in the upcoming year.
According to Ghana News Agency, Madam Arthur outlined her vision of aligning the constituency's growth with the government's agenda to make Ghana an appealing place for the youth and the nation as a whole. In pursuit of this goal, she has initiated several projects, including the construction of schools funded by her portion of the Assembly's Common Fund, distribution of food aid, provision of free medical care, and the introduction of a vehicle support initiative named 'Edwuma na Nk?do'.
The 'Edwuma na Nk?do' project has already provided two Hyundai Elantra saloon cars and five Aboboya tricycles to beneficiaries through a work-and-pay scheme lasting two years. Madam Arthur explained that this initiative aims to enhance transportation and empower recipients to achieve financial stability.
She clarified that these vehicles are not gifts; beneficiaries must use them responsibly for approved constituency and community-related activities, adhering to the repayment terms within the two-year period. Additionally, the MP has commissioned several boreholes to address water issues in the constituency.
