Accra: Mama Acheampong, the long-time music teacher of the late Ghanaian highlife legend, Daddy Lumba, has made an emotional appeal following reports of disagreements surrounding the musician's family after his passing. Speaking to the media on July 27, 2026, Mama Acheampong described the late musician as a peaceful person who was never known for causing trouble during his lifetime.
According to Ghana Web, Mama Acheampong expressed concern over the controversies that have emerged after Daddy Lumba's death, stating that they do not align with the musician's character. She implored, "Charles wasn't troublesome when he was alive. Everything that is happening behind him, if truly there's a ghost, he should wake up and reveal the truth. He should come and settle the issues between his wives so that peace will prevail for him to also rest in peace."
In the wake of these disputes, Daddy Lumba's family has appointed a caretaker to oversee the musician's properties and family affairs. Mama Acheampong paid tribute to Daddy Lumba, comparing his enduring legacy to that of global music legends like Michael Jackson, whose works continue to inspire even after their deaths. "Lumba, I know your legacy is like Michael Jackson's and others who have also left us. Yours will be cherished by Ghanaians and your legacy will continue to go on," she stated.
Mama Acheampong also offered her prayers and support for Daddy Lumba's children, expressing confidence that they would be protected despite the loss of their father. "Your children will also be protected. Now you're lying in the house, so you're now the children's guardian angel. Be a very good guardian angel to your children and their mother," she added.
