Lolito: Lolito D/A Primary School in the South Tongu District of the Volta Region has received a modern two-unit Kindergarten classroom block from Eddies Teddies Incorporated, a United States-based non-governmental organisation.
According to Ghana News Agency, the facility includes classrooms for KG 1 and KG 2, equipped with electricity, running water, and washrooms to provide a conducive learning environment for pupils. Dr. Eddie Etsey, Founder and President of the NGO, stated that the project reflects his commitment to empowering communities through education and giving back to his ancestral home.
He noted the organisation's shift in focus from healthcare to education after recognising its long-term impact on community development. Over the years, Eddies Teddies Incorporated has supported the school with a library, computers, laptops, sporting activities, and band instruments.
Dr. Etsey assured the community of continued support, including plans to renovate parts of the school, improve sanitation facilities, provide a playground, and extend assistance to the Junior High School. Mr. Jacob Kokloku, Headteacher of the school, described the completion of the classroom block as the fulfilment of a long-held dream and appealed for support for staff accommodation, a perimeter fence, a school canteen, and improved sanitation facilities.
