Lebanese robbed and killed at Tema
The Tema Regional Police Command is on a manhunt for four armed men who shot and killed a 54 year old Lebanese businessman and robbed him of a sum of GH200,000.00 at the Tema Heavy Industrial Area.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Joseph Benefo Darkwah, Tema Regional Police Public Relations Officer, confirming the incident, said on Wednesday at about 10:00 hours, Mr Ahmed Safiadeen, the victim, who was a cashier of Delta Agro Company, went to withdraw an amount of GH200,000.00 meant for workers salaries and other factory expenses from a branch of Zenith bank at the heavy industrial area in Tema.
According to ASP Darkwah, the victim after the bank transaction was on his way to the office in his Toyota corolla saloon car with registration number GN1174-12 when he was accosted by four armed men.
The robbers, he indicated, fired several gunshots into his vehicle and robbed him off the money and sped off in a four -wheel drive get-away vehicle
The Police PRO noted that the victim who was rushed to the Raphael hospital in Tema was pronounced dead on arrival and his mortal remains had been deposited at 37 Military Hospital for preservation and autopsy.
ASP Darkwah advised the public especially companies who intended to withdraw large amount of money from the bank to call on police for escort services.
