Accra: Former Black Stars midfielder, Laryea Kingston, has expressed his willingness to take up a coaching role with any of Ghana's national teams, provided certain conditions are met. Kingston, known for his commitment to Ghanaian football, has made it clear that he seeks a professional and supportive working environment before accepting any job offer from the Ghana Football Association.
According to Ghana Web, Kingston emphasized his dedication to his country in an interview with Sporty FM, underscoring that his nationality and passion for football would always attract him to opportunities to coach national teams. He stated, "I'm a Ghanaian, and anytime the opportunity comes to coach any national team, I will. If the environment is conducive for me, I'll take the offer."
Kingston's coaching career includes his appointment as head coach of the Black Starlets in April 2024, where he led the team during the WAFU Zone B U-17 Championship in Ghana. Under his guidance, the team reached the semifinals but faced a 2-1 defeat to Burkina Faso, which prevented them from advancing to the final.
Despite the team's performance, Kingston's tenure as head coach ended unexpectedly following his resignation. He cited alleged interference from officials of the Ghana Football Association as the primary reason for his departure, highlighting the importance of a supportive environment for his potential return to coaching Ghana's national teams.
