Kumasi: The Mayor of Kumasi, Hon. Richard Ofori Agyeman Boadi, has emphasized the need for a strong alignment between religion, chieftaincy, and political leadership to foster national development. He addressed this issue during the Chieftaincy Royals Conference at the Tetelestai Worship Centre in Suame, representing the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene.
According to Ghana Web, Mayor Boadi highlighted that these influential institutions have historically failed to leverage their positions to drive the leadership and development the nation requires. He called for this alignment to be rooted in truthfulness, trust, good stewardship, and accountability. The conference, organized by The Church of Pentecost (COP), was themed 'The Royal Unleashed to Transform the Palace through the Gospel and the Power of the Holy Spirit.'
The event attracted traditional authorities, church community members, and political leaders. Prominent speakers included Apostle Michael Agyen Brefo, Nana Nkansa Boadu Ayeboafo, Offinsohene Nana Dwamena Akenten II, and Elder Nana Kwadwo Gyasi. They advocated for collaboration between Christianity and chieftaincy to promote unity, peace, and national development.
Cultural displays, gospel music, and traditional drumming enriched the event, fostering a joyful blend of culture and faith. The Municipal Chief Executive for Suame, Frank Owusu Ansah, former MP for Bantama, Henry Kwabena Kokofu, and numerous queenmothers also attended, contributing to the event's vibrant and successful outcome.
