Assin akrofuom: KOA Green Initiative, a beverage company, has successfully hosted its inaugural environmental challenge, engaging three senior high schools (SHSs) to bolster environmental education within the Assin enclave. This initiative was a key highlight in the celebration of the company's fifth anniversary, held at Assin Akrofuom in the Assin South District of the Central Region.
According to Ghana News Agency, the schools involved in this environmental competition were Assin Manso Senior High School (SHS), Obiri Yeboah SHS, and Assin Nsuta Agric SHS. The event aimed to inspire students to devise innovative solutions to pressing environmental issues faced by their schools. Mr. George Gyebeng, Human Resource Manager of KOA Green Initiative, emphasized the competition's role in nurturing climate-conscious leadership among the youth. Each school was tasked with identifying an existing environmental problem and proposing a viable solution, complete with a budget plan. KOA Green Initiative pledged to support the implementation of these solutions, with assistance from other partners.
After a rigorous evaluation by a panel of judges, Assin Nsuta Agric SHS emerged victorious. Mr. Gyebeng extended his congratulations to the winners and encouraged the other schools to persist in their efforts to innovate and address environmental challenges.
