KMA to Demolish Unlawful Structures on Pavements and Streets in Bantama

Kumasi: The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has directed traders in Bantama to remove unlawful structures from pavements with immediate effect. The Assembly has declared that it will proceed with demolishing these structures, which are causing a nuisance, on November 28th, 2025, if the traders fail to comply with the directive.

According to Ghana News Agency, a statement issued by the Public Relations Department of the assembly noted management's concern about the increasing extension of shops and structures on walkways, which is impeding the movement of the public. The indiscriminate parking of vehicles in unauthorized areas at the Bantama market has also exacerbated the nuisance and severe traffic congestion around the market.

The statement expressed the assembly's concern over these unlawful activities and instructed all affected traders to relocate to the race course market. Traders seeking assistance can contact the Bantama Sub-Metro at the Race Course.
