Ketu South: The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) in the Ketu South District has extended its support to three of its members undergoing medical treatment by providing a total of GHS108,000.00.
According to Ghana News Agency, the beneficiaries include Ms. Diana Adzo Abba, who received GHS60,000.00, Ms. Melody Mawushi Gobah with GHS40,000.00, and Ms. Leticia Narkie Nartey who received GHS8,000.00. All three are members working in different healthcare facilities within the Ketu South Municipality and are encountering distinct medical challenges.
The donated amount was sourced from the GRNMA Health Fund at the National Headquarters and was handed over to the Ketu South Municipal branch of the Association to aid in covering the medical bills of the members. Mr. Samuel K. Numana, the Ketu South Branch Chairman, along with other District Executives, presented the funds to the beneficiaries at Agbozume and the Municipal Hospital at Aflao on behalf of the President of the Association, Mrs. P
erpetual Ofori Ampofo, and the Regional Chairman, Mr. Courage Kwame-Kumah.
Mr. Numana emphasized to the Ghana News Agency that this financial assistance illustrates the Association’s dedication to the well-being of its members. He stated, “This financial assistance will significantly alleviate the burden of medical expenses and enable them to focus on recovery and well-being.”
He further encouraged members to remain affiliated with the GRNMA, highlighting that the welfare of nurses and midwives is the top priority of the Association. The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude towards the National President, regional and district executives for their timely financial and emotional support during this critical period.
They also urged all nurses and midwives who have not yet joined the Association to become members, describing GRNMA as unparalleled in the country. Ms. Abba conveyed her appreciation by stating, “I was worried about my bills, but the GRNA’s support has lifted a huge burden off my shoulder and
this act of kindness has given me hope and strength to continue with my recovery.”
The presentation was attended by Mr. David Yao Agbokpe, the Municipal Director of Health Services, Dr. Alphonse Makafui Dzakpasu, the Medical Superintendent of the Ketu South Municipal Hospital, along with human resource managers, staff of the health directorate and the hospital, relatives, and facility executives.
