Ghanaian Afropop and Afrobeats singer Wendy Asiamah Addo, known popularly as Wendy Shay, has paid tribute to late reggae-dancehall artist Ebony.

Her real name was Priscilla Opoku Kwarteng. She died instantly in a traffic collision on February 8, 2018, while returning from Sunyani to Accra after a visit to her mother.

Her assistant and longtime friend Franklina Yaa Nkansah Kuri and soldier Atsu Vondee were also killed in the fatal accident.

The only survivor of the fatal crash was the driver, Phinehas, who resides in Teshie. She died eight days before her 21st birthday.

Her final funeral rites were held at the forecourt of the state house, Accra, and was buried at Osu cemetery on Saturday, March 24, 2018.

Today being exactly five years since the record-breaking singer died, her record mate took to Twitter and wrote, “Keep on resting in power, Queen.”
