Ibrahim Mahama Announces Astroturf Development Plans in Damang

Damang: The Chief Executive Officer of Engineers and Planners, Ibrahim Mahama, has announced plans to construct Astroturfs across Damang to enhance sporting activities in the area. This announcement follows EandP's official takeover of the Damang Mine in a ceremony at the mine site.

According to Ghana Web, the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, led by Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, formally handed over the Damang Mine concession to Engineers and Planners. The handover occurred after EandP's successful bid, allowing the company to manage the mine for a specified period in accordance with its agreement with the government.

During the event, Ibrahim Mahama shared with the public a message he received from a local young man, urging him to build Astroturfs in various communities to enhance local sports. In response to this request, Mahama has begun taking steps to develop the sporting infrastructure, emphasizing the importance of community support for his vision.

Addressing the community, Mahama expressed his commitment to the project and urged collective effort, stating, "I would say that if we all put our minds together, this is a success story. And the plan I have for Damang is not a joke, I just want us to invest in ourselves in this country. I want to pledge and say it for everybody to hear. I got a text from one of our young men here saying we should build Astroturfs for all the communities, which we are looking to do."
