I said landlord, let me be on your album – Blacko confirms reaching out to Sarkodie for “Countryside”

Ghanaian sensational singer Black Sherif has opined on the events leading to his “Countryside” collaboration with Sarkodie on his “Jamz” album.

He said he wasn’t on Sarkodie’s list of artists for the album until he reached out to be added.

The one-time BET-nominated singer said he has done three songs with Africa’s most decorated rapper, with one out already, “Countryside.”

“Sark had posted the flyer for the album. So I hit him up like, “Landlord, no, this album I have to be on it before it comes out,” he said.

“We made songs, like three songs. ‘Countryside’ was one of them,” he said in an interview.

Despite the rapper’s revelation of not wanting to jump on Black Sherif’s recent fame, many still could not believe him but insinuated he begged the young rapper for the ‘Countryside’ collaboration.

“Most of these records you hear me on and you think I’m jumping on somebody’s record, I never reach out to these people,” Sarkodie revealed.

“Big shouts to my superstar Blacko,” he said. “Blacko hit me up, last minute of this project: “Landlord, I have to be on Jamz.” I said, “Pull up,” Sarkodie said in an earlier interview.
