Ghanaian singer Martin King Arthur, known widely in showbiz as Kofi Kinaata has recounted some of the good and friendly treatments he receives due to his work as a musician.
Kinaata says certain places and favours wouldn’t have come his way if not for music.
His narration comes after he appeared as Nana Romeo’s guest on Accra 100.5FM on Tuesday, December 20, and was asked whether he has benefited from music.
“I have benefited so much from being a musician,” he said, adding, “Recently, I was in the office of the head of the Ghanaian army. All the individuals in the room were Generals, Major Rtd, and more. Ordinarily, I can’t be in such company but for my music.”
The musician, who hails from Efiekuma, Sekondi-Takoradi in the Western Region, said he was able to perform at former President John Agyekum Kufour’s birthday party.
“I performed recently at the birthday party for ex-President Kufour.”
“Having a conversation, taking pictures” with high-profile personalities, according to the singer, is something he holds dear, giving thanks to music.
He added, “Recently, I was late to the German Embassy. When I got there, I was told not to worry and that the one I was to see had been to my show at +233 before, so they’ll see me and follow me [on social media]. I was specially attended to when everyone in the queue had left. So, yeah, these are some of the benefits that come with my job.”
