Lionel Messi, captain of the Argentine national team has reacted to his new achievement as a World Cup champion.

The FIFA World Cup winner says he can’t believe he finally achieved his long-held dream.

In a writeup on his Instagram handle, the 35-year-old multiple Ballon d’Or winner appreciated the support and loyalty from his country.

According to Messi, Argentina is always victorious when they are united, just as they were in the recently concluded tournament in Qatar.

“CHAMPIONS OF THE WORLD!!!!!!!

So many times I dreamed it, so much I wanted it that I still don’t fall, I can’t believe it…… Thank you so much to my family, to all who support me and also to all who believed in us. We prove once again that Argentinians when we fight together and united we are able to achieve what we aim.

“The merit is of this group, which is above individuals, is the strength of all fighting for the same dream that was also the one of all Argentinians… We did it!!! LET’S GO ARGENTINA DAMN!!!!! We’re seeing each other very soon,” Messi wrote.

Argentina lifted their third world cup trophy after a tight final game against the 2018 world champions, France.

Mbappe’s side showed resilience by coming back from a 2-0 first-half defeat through a 3-minute interval double-net-breaker.

However, after a dramatic 90 minutes and extra time, the game ended 3-3, and the winner had to be chosen from a spot-kick section.

The end of the kick gave Messi and Argentina their long-awaited World Cup title and cemented Messi’s record of winning every big trophy in the world.
