Accra: President of Rugby Africa, Herbert Mensah, has shared a terrifying moment when he almost died. In a candid revelation, Mensah recounted a life-threatening situation in 2018 where he found himself breathless and teetering on the brink of death.
According to Ghana Web, Mensah explained that as the severity of the situation escalated, he turned to prayer, pleading with God for more time for the sake of his children. In his moment of desperation, he requested an additional five years to ensure he could care for his children up to a certain stage before potentially leaving them behind.
Mensah's faith, he believes, played a pivotal role in his recovery. He shared that his prayers were answered, as he not only survived the ordeal but also surpassed the time he had asked for. Nearly eight years later, Mensah reflects on his experience, emphasizing the impact of his faith and the importance of being there for those who depend on us.
In a heartfelt Facebook post dated April 19, 2026, Mensah wrote, "In 2018, I nearly passed, but I asked for an extra five years because my daughters needed me. God adds life because others need us!" His journey since that near-fatal episode has seen him emerge as a leading figure in Ghana, holding numerous positions in the sporting world both locally and internationally.
