Accra: Mr Haruna Iddrisu, the Minister of Education, has announced plans to constitute a technical team to undertake a comprehensive review of the Computerized School Placement System (CSSPS). The initiative aims to ensure greater efficiency, transparency, and fairness in the placement of students into second-cycle institutions across the country.
According to Ghana News Agency, this announcement was part of a statement from the Ministry’s communication unit issued in Accra. The Minister made the announcement during a surprise working visit to Presbyterian Senior High School in Accra. During this visit, he emphasized that the forthcoming review of the CSSPS would involve key stakeholders, including education managers and representatives of parents and students, to ensure the system continues to serve the best interests of all Ghanaian students.
Mr Iddrisu took the opportunity to interact with students, teachers, and management of the school to gain firsthand insight into the conditions of teaching and learning, infrastructure, and general preparedness for the academic term. He commended the staff for their dedication and reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to improving educational infrastructure, teaching resources, and administrative systems to enhance equitable access to quality education.
The Ministry of Education has also extended its best wishes to the first-year Senior High School (SHS) students who are reporting to their various schools. Approximately 590,000 students nationwide reported to school from Saturday, October 18, to Monday, October 20, 2025, to begin the 2025/2026 academic year.
