Ghana qualified for the 2026 World Cup after topping Group I in the African qualifiers. The team entered the competition with the aim of improving on their previous performance, where they faced a group-stage exit at the 2022 tournament in Qatar. Under the leadership of head coach Carlos Queiroz, the Black Stars competed in a challenging group alongside England, Croatia, and Panama.
The team delivered a disciplined campaign, progressing to the knockout stage following the group phase. However, their journey was halted in the Round of 32 after a match against Colombia. Despite the early exit, the financial support signifies Ghana's dedication to nurturing its football talent and achieving success in international tournaments.
