Accra, Global IT firm, Hashtag Consulting, has appointed former Special Aide to late President Rawlings, Dr Donald Agumenu as the Chairman of its board to oversee operations in sub-Saharan Africa.
Dr Agumenu is expected to identify and lead strategic partners in developing and sustaining the digital economy as well drive market leadership and business development.
The project management expert, is also required to oversee the development of key markets in West Africa and help with the building of local talent in Ghana and the regional market.
His appointment was announced by Mr Shiv Iyer, the Vice President of Hashtag Consulting, in a statement.
In his response, Dr Agumenu said: “I am sincerely grateful for this appointment, especially at the time where the digital economy across Africa has become an ecosystem for socio-economic development.”
He noted that the current digital transformation offered numerous opportunities for businesses and the youth, and assured the company of his commitment in ensuring that it took full advantage of such opportunities.
He said: “I shall bring my years of leadership experience across various sectors in harnessing this opportunities to drive policy and create more jobs for our teeming youth across Ghana and Africa while improving business efficiency and e-governance.”
“My leadership will help build strategic, corporate and operational capacity for public and private institutions to maximise profit and improve total quality management and efficiency across their value- chain,” Dr Agumenu added.
