Legon Cities FC on Sunday afternoon recorded an important 1-0 win against Ashanti Gold SC as they push to escape relegation at the end of the Ghana Premier League season.
Despite their struggle in the first round of the 2020/2021 Ghanaian top-flight league campaign, the Royals have managed to turn things around in the second round.
As a result of top performances in recent weeks, the team is out of the relegation zone. Today, the Royals made the trip to Obuasi to take on Ashanti Gold SC on matchday 27 of the ongoing league campaign.
Courtesy of another spirited performance from Legon Cities FC, they have managed to bag the maximum points after beating the Miners 1-0 courtesy of a first-half equalizer from Issaka Mohammed.
While the win underlines the struggles of Ashgold SC in the second round of the league season, Legon Cities FC moves to 9th on the league log with 35 points.
