Accra: Former Education Minister under the Nana Addo-led New Patriotic Party (NPP) government, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, has assured that Ghana will prosper under the leadership of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia. Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum was among the candidates who contested against Dr Bawumia in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primary. Following that contest, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia appointed all four of his former primary opponents as co-chairpersons of his newly established party policy committees.
According to Ghana Web, the decision to appoint former rivals to key positions within the party's policy committees has generated significant discussion within political circles. This move is part of a broader initiative by the NPP leadership aimed at strengthening its policy development structure and repositioning the party as a research-driven and solution-oriented force ahead of the upcoming elections. Specifically, Dr Bawumia appointed Dr Osei Yaw Adutwum as co-chair of the Education Policy Committee.
Speaking in an exclusive interview on Hot 93.9 FM's 'Hot Morning Drive,' hosted by Oman Nana, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum stated emphatically that he has accepted the Vice President's appointment. The former Education Minister expressed his commitment by stating, "I have accepted his offer wholeheartedly. He called me and sent me a WhatsApp message. If he says I should help him with my knowledge in education, why not? I have accepted the appointment 100 per cent."
Dr Yaw Adutwum further elaborated on his confidence in Dr Bawumia's leadership, stating, "I want to do anything for this country to prosper, and I know this country will prosper through Dr Mahamudu Bawumia." He explained that Dr Bawumia is open to new ideas and is focused on finding solutions to change the course of the country's history, adding his "100 per cent support" for his leadership.
