Accra: Entertainment pundit Arnold Asamoah-Baidoo has called on Ghanaians to consistently support local talents rather than be quick to criticise them for their creative choices. Speaking on the United Showbiz show on United Television, Arnold reacted to conversations surrounding Sarkodie's recent music video, which featured socialite and actress Efia Odo.
According to Ghana Web, many Ghanaians are often quick to judge their own people without taking time to understand the artistic direction behind certain projects. Arnold argued that while Ghanaians openly celebrate international stars like Rihanna and Beyonc©, they tend to heavily criticise local personalities who express themselves in similar ways.
Arnold emphasised that Efia Odo's provocative appearance in the music video was simply part of the role she was asked to portray and should not be interpreted beyond entertainment. He explained that acting and music videos often require individuals to embody certain characters to effectively tell a story.
He further stated that Efia Odo's presence significantly contributed to the buzz and success surrounding the video. According to him, her influence, combined with Sarkodie's talent, generated online conversations and helped draw attention to the project. Arnold added that not many people could have played the role as effectively as she did.
