Accra, Nov. 28, GNA – Mr Seth Abakah, a teacher at Association International School, Accra, has won the Instill Education Social Media Competition which targeted teachers in Ghana, Kenya, and South Africa.

Competing with more than 40,000 educators for the Ghana prize, Seth demonstrated prowess in Social Media engagements by sharing Instill Education’s posts and motivating school leaders and classroom teachers to follow Instill Education for quality teacher professional development programmes to build their competency in education service delivery.

He was awarded a brand-new tablet for winning the competition.

Presenting the award to Seth at his school, Madam Sarah Osei,the Country Lead for Instill Education in Ghana, congratulated Mr Abakah for demonstrating exceptional skills in completing modules from the Upskill platform, and also encouraging other teachers to build capacity for improved educational outcomes in Ghana.

Madam Osei underscored the relevance of improving teacher capacity and professionalism as the teacher remained the pivot around which any education enterprise revolved.

She said Instill Education and the Mastercard Foundation were supporting teachers in Ghana to build capacity towards improved learning outcomes for the needed socio-economic transformation of the country.

The Ghana Country Lead indicated that “Education in Africa faces an existential challenging crisis, and for that reason, Instill Education is re-imagining teaching and learning in every African classroom to address among other things, the 17 million teacher gaps projected by UNESCO for Sub-Sahara Africa by 2030”.

Receiving the prize, Mr Seth Abakah thanked Instill Education for instituting great programmes that addressed the gaps in school leadership and teaching.

He said, “Instill Education is the best online professional career development programme I have so far encountered”.

He called on his colleague teachers and School Leaders to take advantage of the Instill Education learning management system, Upskill to improve their teaching competencies.

Commenting on the award, the Head of School for Association International School, Mrs Audrey Doryumu, who introduced Mr Abakah to the Upskill platform, thanked Instill Education for the effort made on the African continent to transform teaching and learning towards improved learning outcomes.

She hoped that other school leaders and teachers in Ghana would take advantage of the innovative learning platform to transform education.

Instill Education is a pan-African EdTech higher Education institution focusing on teacher professionalism and capacity development toward achieving the learning outcomes and targets contained in the continental and global goals.
